Warm air at the vents, ice on the lines, or a breaker that keeps tripping isn't a wait-it-out problem when East Waterboro, ME temperatures climb. We check charge, compressor amp draw, and coil condition before recommending a fix before any part gets quoted.
A refrigerant top-off with no leak search is a classic way homeowners in East Waterboro end up paying twice. We pull static and running pressures, check superheat and subcooling against factory spec, and use electronic detection to find the actual leak, because a properly repaired leak outlasts three top-offs.
Non-negotiables on every cooling call.
Every tech handling refrigerant carries current federal certification — a legal requirement we take seriously.
We bump no-cool calls ahead of routine work, even during the busiest stretch of summer.
Whatever the repair, the quote holds before work starts.
Sniffers and UV dye find the actual leak point instead of masking the symptom, not just a temporary patch.
Six issues that cover the majority of what we see.
We locate, repair, and recharge to spec — not just refilled and sent on its way.
A compressor that hums without starting or pulls high amps gets tested at the windings and start capacitor before we recommend replacement.
We find why the coil froze, not just defrost it and hope.
Dual-run capacitor failure is a leading reason an outdoor unit won't start, and it's usually a same-visit fix once confirmed.
A coil caked in debris can't reject heat properly, which spikes head pressure and stresses the compressor, so we clean and inspect during the visit.
A blown fuse or tripped disconnect can present exactly like a dead compressor, so we rule these out first to avoid an unnecessary replacement.
Four steps to cold air again.
Describe the symptom — warm air, ice, tripping breaker — and we route the nearest tech and we'll get a tech moving.
Truck arrives stocked with refrigerant, gauges, and common parts within your window.
Pressures and amp draws get measured before anything gets added, then quote a flat rate.
Same-visit completion is typical, backed in writing.

What people ask before we dispatch.
The common causes are leak, compressor, or coil and we test each before quoting.
Sure, but it won't stick — refrigerant is a closed system, so if the level dropped, it went somewhere specific, and we'll say so before you pay for one.
Cooling emergencies jump the queue, usually resolved within a few hours of your call.
It won't hurt anyone, but continued operation risks the compressor, so it's worth addressing quickly.
Our focus is central and packaged systems, though we can point you toward window unit resources, and can advise on window units.
The diagnostic fee buys real testing time, and it's subtracted from your bill once you approve the fix.
